In honor of the official announcement, multi-platinum indie pop musician Dayglow releases his most recent single, “Cocoon,” and unveils his new self-titled project. As an artist and creative, Sloan Struble is fully represented in DAYGLOW, which also serves as a fitting introduction to the vivid and brilliant Dayglow universe. Struble wrote, performed, recorded, produced, and mixed all ten tracks of his debut album in his Malibu home studio. He says candidly, “I made my mixtape Fuzzybrain when I was eighteen years old. Since I was a really shy child from a little Texas town, I really didn’t expect much to happen “commercially” for the record—I created it just for my own delight.
Enthralled with the 2010 indie music movement (MGMT, The Strokes, Phoenix, Passion Pit, etc.), I set out to record an album in my bedroom by myself. Thus, Dayglow was created out of my quest to create something I liked. At the time, it was an obvious expression of who I was. It was guitar-driven, innocent, silly, and pure indie-pop, meant to be performed live by a five-piece band (which I didn’t even have yet).
